Final plans are being made for the Seventh Annual Jefferson County Civil War Seminar to be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. The seminar is sponsored by the Charles Town Library Civil War Roundtable and the Jefferson County Historical Society. The seminar will be held at historic Happy Retreat, home of Charles Washington, youngest brother of General George Washington and founder of Charles Town. Although no fee is charged, a “goodwill donation” will be taken with proceeds given to local historical associations. Seating for this popular event is limited, so plan to arrive early.
