FOHR held a Harvest Ball at the Claymont Mansion on September 20,2014. Sponsored by Bank of Charles Town and City National Bank, it was attended by some eighty guests, Cocktails and a buffet dinner were followed by introductions of special quests and entertainment by the Martinsburg Jazz Orchestra.
On September 14, 2013, FOHR held a Harvest Ball at the Claymont Mansion, with some one hundred attendees. On January 8, 2012, members of the FOHR board visited Mount Vernon and were given an extensive tour of the Mansion, outbuildings, gardens and the Tomb of George and Martha Washington . Board Officer, Walter Washington, a direct descendent of Samuel Washington, the brother of President Washington and Charles Washington, recited a Washington Family prayer at the Tomb.
